Tesla has announced its highly anticipated next-generation Model Y, boasting an unprecedented range of 500 miles on a single charge. The new model features revolutionary solid-state battery technology that Tesla claims is a breakthrough for the EV industry.

The refreshed vehicle also sports a completely redesigned interior inspired by the Cybertruck, featuring a 17-inch center display and a new driver display cluster. Production is set to begin at Gigafactory Texas later this year.

Industry analysts suggest this announcement could dramatically shift the competitive landscape for electric SUVs, putting pressure on rivals including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and emerging Chinese EV makers like BYD and NIO.

“This is the most significant vehicle we have ever built,” said Tesla CEO Elon Musk during the live-streamed reveal event. “500 miles of range with a 15-minute charge time changes everything about electric vehicle ownership.”

Pre-orders opened immediately after the reveal, with reports indicating over 100,000 reservations placed within the first 24 hours, underscoring the massive global demand for advanced electric vehicles.
